Educational Testing Service(ETS) is a private, nonprofit organization devoted to educational measurement and research, primarily through testing. ETS develops and administers millions of achievement and admissions tests each year in the U.S. and 180 other countries.

 

The TOEFL® test is the most widely accepted English-language test in the world. The TOEFL® test measures your ability to communicate in English in colleges and universities. The TOEFL test gives you the skills you need to communicate in real-life, academic situations. Accepted by 6,000+ institutions in more than 130 countries, it is the most widely accepted English-language test in the world.

You can take the Internet-based Test (iBT) or the Paper-based Test (PBT), both are offered at NC Elite Career Service Center.

 

TOEFL® Internet-based Test (iBT)

The TOEFL iBT measures skills in reading, listening, speaking and writing, and requires you to combine 2 or more of these skills to respond to a question. For example, you might read a passage or listen to a lecture in English, and then write or speak your answers in English.

TOEFL® Paper-based Test (PBT)

The TOEFL Paper-based Test (PBT) measures how well you read, listen and write in English. Writing skills are measured with the TWE® (Test of Written English™) test, which everyone takes as part of the TOEFL PBT. Register anytime - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Listening Comprehension measures the ability to understand English as it is spoken in North America.                                        Structure and Written Expression measures the ability to recognize language that is appropriate for standard written English.        Reading Comprehension measures the ability to understand non-technical reading material.
